Today is my first time posting on my blog. More importantly, it's Super Bowl Sunday. Usually this is a big day here, with a large, boisterous party. I'm taking a year off, though. Just 6 13 yo boys. That's about the same as the 40 adults and 20 kids we've had in the past.

Gearing up for the Knitting Olympics. Starts on Friday. Should be fun to make my first Clapotis.

Hi Jocelyn,
You made a comment on my blog asking about biking socks. I'm using a cotton/wool blend for riding in the summer. Haven't found a pattern yet, but I want something that is low--not a footie, but not a full scale crew sock either. Something that just covers the ankle bone. I'm thinking of doing a ribbing on the instep side of the foot, and then continue it up into the little bit of ribbing that I will do all the way around. If I find a pattern, I'll post it on my blog, so stay tuned. Yarn--I'm using KnitPicks dancing, but definitely not male colors. I found a yarn called wick here Looks promising, but as I posted in my blog, I'm on a yarn diet, so the dancing will have to do for now. Let me know if you try this and it works.

HI Jocelyn - you've been tagged! (sorry - just trying to avoid bad knitting karma). For the rules, please check out my blog on the 20 May post.

Hi there,
I'm writing you back regarding the Eyelet Chemise. I never got around to making it, so I don't know how well the pattern is written. The problem I was having was with the yarn I was using (Frog Tree Pima Silk). In fact, I ended up frogging the sweater that was in the post you commented on, and used it for yet another pattern! I really love the eyelet chemise, though, so I bought a different yarn for it - Elsebeth Lavold Hempathy - back in July. The composition is more like the original linen yarn, but it's softer on the hands. I of course have not gotten around to it, but thanks for reminding me. I will need a project once I'm finished with my second attempt at the Cherry sweater. Good luck!

Welcome to the "neighborhood" Jocelyn! I wasn't at TNNA but I'm glad my shawl went without me...

Blessings & happy knitting always!

Don't know how else to respond to you! Hopefully you'll see this here :)

Yes, The Point is closing! They were doing well, but their 5 year lease was up and didn't want to renew in these uncertain times. Yarn connection, Stitches East and Knit New York have all closed recently. There are still plenty around for your yarn shopping when you come in June though. Best are Knitty City, Purl Soho and Downtown yarns.

Thanks for your comment. I questioned someone else in the yarn industry a few minutes ago, and apparently, this is common practice. I never heard of it before today and if it's true, it's very depressing.
